Support for students who cannot afford to upgrade their old iPad

We just went through this also. We purchased hundreds of Ipad 2's and Apple pretty much said "buy new or forget you".

They are about as supportive of education as a donor do a congressman, only influenced with money.

There are ways to work around Apple update to work with older apps, and there are converters out there which will make most apps for newer versions compatible with older iPads.

I didn't have control over the schools purchasing decisions, or I would have went with Samsung. At least when they stop supporting things, they still allow the older versions to work. But slowly they are going the way of Apple.

Best bet, get a good IT professional at your school, and do network based cloud apps. That way, no matter what device you use, you can always have the best apps for it since it mainly uses connectivity rather than each devices compatibility. This takes a little bit of IT know-how but it future proofs your devices and makes them last a lot longer.

Have you tried accessing SeeSaw from the Safari app? https://web.seesaw.me/ On the web you have full access to all the teacher tools just like the app. I hope this helps.

I have several devices still in my fleet that receive this message for different apps. You should still be able to log in and use it with no issues. It just means that your app will no longer be updated.

You should also reach out to your child's school and see what they have to say.

Does the SeeSaw app allow you to log in? Some app companies allow the older versions to work and just don't offer new features.

That has been my experience as well. I have teachers who are still able to access Seesaw on older devices, though the error message keeps coming up. Anything posted by students works. It does not always work for the shared activity libraries though if an activity was created in a newer version. I hope this helps.
