Hi,
So, I have my phone on lock screen within 5 minutes of not using. It was working fine yesterday. I left it charging all night. When I went to open it, the screen was not locked and did not lock. I restarted phone and it open right up without a lock code request. Like I said, I have it on auto-lock in 5 minutes.
Any ideas.

Hello Starr. Thanks for all of your information. I ended up going to Apple Chat cuz I wasn't getting any responses on this forum. The tech had me update the phone. I had Apple reset my phone the other day regarding another matter, so the default update wasn't set at automatic (which is odd in itself). That didn't actually fix the problem, however. I was setting and resetting lock time under display & brightness before I got together with Apple. And I had rebooted the phone to no avail. Initially when my phone was finished updating, the lock still wasn't working. The tech had me go to Touch ID & Passcode. But setting time there didn't work either. Kinda goofy, but we changed the time to various minutes, and no go. But then I selected "immediately" and, shazam, it locked. Then it began working with other time settings as well. So I don't really know how it was fixed. But am so glad it was. Thanks again for your input

Thanks for posting. I understand wanting to make sure your device is secured, and I'm happy to see if I can help. As I understand it, you weren't prompted to unlock your iPhone with a passcode twice recently. Is that correct?
Does this happen every time you restart, or is it working as expected since making this post?
Do you use Touch ID, or do you always use a passcode to unlock your device?
You mentioned your device was charging overnight; did you have any apps running, like audio or white noise apps?
Also, under Settings > Touch ID & Passcode, which option do you have selected under "Require Passcode?"
