Adding more, I unplugged this morning ~6:50AM (100%), installed latest update, ~2 hours later, I'm at 65%, where I normally am after ~16 hours.
Same issue for me with a brand new refurbished iPhone 8, A+ grade
After upgrading to iOS 13.4.1, it diminished the heating and battery drain.
However, after listening to some music at Spotify and using WhatsApp, it suddenly started to heat again.
Response is to deggie
I can’t wait for IOS 14.

My XS Max is draining very fast after 13.4
iPhone 11 Pro draining fast, with 97% of maximum capacity.
After 4 days, my battery usage seems to have returned to normal, suggesting an earlier post suggesting there was some post-fixpack file system consolidation has merit.
Same STANDBY DRAINING PROBLEM on my iPhone SE. I really start to HATE APPLE for their buggy systems. If they don't fix this I won't buy any iPhones anymore 😠👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
Apple is STEALING their customers TIME when forcing them to spend hours looking for solutions that cannot solve the problem caused by their crappy software 🤮
Try disabling all apps operating in background.
It is almost 2 weeks since I upgraded from 12.4.1 to 13.4.1
I've been dealing with this problem of battery drain for six months (iPad Pro).
A few days has turned into 24, sorry you’re wrong. Holding out for iOS 13.4.5 is all’s there’s left to do, if that doesn’t work I like a few others will not buy Apple again.
