Hello,
First, you can check your battery status in the Settings app through Setting > Battery > Battery Health. Any level under 80% indicates that you could very well experience battery problems due to aging of the battery.
If your battery starts draining much faster after a software update and the battery health is fine, you could try restoring your iPhone using Finder (on a Mac) or iTunes (on a PC). You can find instructions on how to do that at:
Please ensure you first make a backup in iCloud so you can restore it after restoring the iPhone.
#2 There aren't that many applications that actually run in the background but a good thing to check.
#7 I've never used any sort of regime for charging but with Lithium Polymer batteries it is a bad idea to totally deplete them.
#8 No certified Qi charger will make it overheat and since the iPhone will only draw at the 7.5 level it shouldn't overheat at all. None of my wireless chargers have done this. Using the Apple 18W battery with a USB-C cable will heat up the iPhone more than any Qi charger would and there is nothing that shows it will "significantly reduce serviceability", whatever that means.
#11 Worth a shot but neither method is intrinsically better than the other.
What model iPhone is this? Who put the new battery in? When you ran it with no apps (which isn't possible) in Settings > Battery which apps/processes had the highest percentage.
I really don't care what electronics you buy. You should go with Samsung. They never have battery problems.
Somewhere else I don’t believe you period !
Almost no one on an iPad has reported battery issues , however some with iPhones 6s (this has a pre-existing battery issue addressed by Apple with a free battery upgrade ) and I see some 7 models .
Both these if used frequently and charged are certainly closing in on their cycle lives anyway no disrespect.
I suggest something you have running in the back ground and probably on all your devices is the likely cause to be honest.
Happily I’ll go away -Gotta do some work and tests on 13.4.5 and my apps . So clearly anything I find under NGO that might help here you won’t/can’t know . Have a nice day.
Still do check those running background apps I assure you one is the culprit and it might indeed be an Apple task !
Clues include VPN , Siri and yet to be optimised YouTube
After updating to iOS 13 last September my battery life went from 20 hours on a charge - to 4. This is the truth. I have worked with Apple support - changed settings, reset settings - and yes, TWO factory resets - completely cleaned the iPad and installed apps one at the time - I could see when the drain kicked in - everything held fine for a few minutes, then I saw the percentage start ticking down, down down. I lose a percentage every few minutes. I just watch it drop.
Now Apple is claiming that 1) it's a "hardware" problem (but how does a hardware problem start immediately after a software update: it doesn't); or 2) I should buy a new device. This one cost about $2,000 and is still nearly new. Everywhere you turn ... people have this same problem.
It's absolutely an Apple problem. Please leave your feedback at Apple.com/feedback - I am counting on the developers to fix this problem in iOS 14.
Quick update (maybe not the best word) - I did the hard reset - after the update to 13.4 - after two factory resets - after reinstalling and updating all apps - after resetting all settings - and battery drain still in effect. I watched it drop in increments of 5% - 25% after a few minutes of use -
I file a report several times a week at apple.com/feedback/ipad - I hope everyone else will do likewise - I appreciate everyone posting here and hope Apple will also fix this unfortunate result of their software installation on our devices.
I'm responding again because my iPad just crashed - after 4 hours of use - compared to 20 hours before the update to iOS 13 last September. Someone suggested contacting Apple support - I have done that repeatedly and the last agent had the nerve to say "Well just buy a new iPad" - this one was a true investment for me at about $2,000 - I expected it to last - and it was doing just fine until the update to iOS 13.
Like others in this thread, I have done two clean factory resets, reset all settings, hard resets, and three different hardware diagnostics - battery life is 91% - the drain was dramatic and immediate after the iOS update so really what else can it be.
Honestly it seems like gaslighting to keep doubting the concrete actual experience of users to say "It's background activity" or "indexing" when we know without a doubt something is wrong. This forum is full of people with the same story as me.
Most people just get beaten down and give up. I am not going to do that because there is a sense of injustice here.
Thanks everyone for your posts. Solidarity is a good thing.
Actually Laurence a quick up thread I’ll help you a little; The person that marked to issue solved was one just like yourself experiencing battery issues and griping loudly and not one of those looking to try and help and not an Apple or level 7 above as you put it !
Still just hold out or join the developer programme it’s free and you might just find something is in the works
Going to add my XS Max to this list of battery issues after updating to 13.4. Prior to 13.4, I didn’t experience any real issues. Now I leave my phone charging over night and wake up to 29% battery life. Even right now my phone is in a Smart Charing Case, and my phone battery life is draining 5% over the last half hour while my Smart Charging case sits at 100%. I had none of these issues prior to 13.4.
They are correct, there is no Apple supported method to roll back the OS. Since you have contacted 2nd level support ask them if they will let you put a battery profile on your iPhone to see what is going on with it.
All my family reported to the developers about the battery issue as well as no sync with iTunes with OS previous to Catalina.
I wonder how long will it take the developers to do the modification. Also I heard that there is a way to go back to iOS 13.2.1
OK, I am done with this post, need to charge my iPhone, :o)

But Apple should be addressed. Thank you.
Then, by all means, take it up with Apple. You can start with the "Contact Support" link at the top right of every page of these forums. Note that support is overwhelmed right now and it may take a while to get through.
You can also submit feedback here:
You won't get a response but your comments and suggestions will get read by the appropriate people.
You must have talked to level one support, who are not informed about this issue. Restoring it only restores the data. If Apple would include the restore to previous iOS, then you be OK. But the problem is that the servers keep the latest iOS 13.4.
I wish iPhones would have had the cloning like desktop computers can.
Exactly same here with iPhone XS. Before iOS 13.4 update battery was brilliant, never overheated or drained fast, if I can see massive drop in battery life plus extra heat accumulated. I did updated it on the day was available 24/03, software issues. I did fixed some iPhones in the last with hard reset, holding buttons together, will try this Xs and will update.
