After A LOT of searching and tinkering with things I have finally fixed this issue on my MacBook. Turned out it wasn’t caused by Apple but kaspersky in my case, the privacy settings were completely blocking the camera, as soon as I unchecked the selection in Kaspersky the camera popped straight back on! 😤

I am having the same issue. No green light. Camera not available for photo booth or zoom. This issue started yesterday... I checked the system report and it says "No video capture devices were found" No trauma or damage to my macbook.. running Catalina 10.15.6 2019 macbook air. I already used this MB since last year and there is no problem. Why this happen apple?

after my guarantee expired and someone said that I need to replace the whole screen. 🤦🏼‍♀️

please help... camera become urgent and important during this covid-19 pandemic.

it is really disappointed. I just bought this MB last year... and I don’t want to pay for something that was not my fault.

😭😭😭 especially during this pandemic which impact to economic condition.

Apple... please take this issue seriously.

I really need my MB back because during this pandemic in Indonesia, I have to work from home.

Now, the number of confirmed covid 19 case in Indonesia is increasing. Thus, it will extend the WFH period.

I really hope apple can solved this problem immediately...

I went through the entire Apple Store process regarding this issue last week. I have a 2019 MBP. I do not have Apple care. They at first replaced a display cable, it was going to be $140 if it worked and $0 if it didn’t. It didn’t work. Next they suggested replacing the logic board for $580. I declined.

Seems their logic board has failed and it’s on me to either spend more money to have a working Facetime camera, or else give up entirely.
