launchpad keeps opening randomly on and off and on and off

while I am listening to youtube and looking at a photo on my screen (in photos) (I am painting) and not touching the trackpad or keyboard, the launchpad flashes up on screen and then off again constantly. I updated the latest recommendations...I tried restarting, I tried shutting everything down and waiting and turning on again, still doing it. Needless to say it is VERY annoying.

I have a bluetooth trackpad and keyboard (the battery operated kind, I checked my batteries and connections)

Another peculiar thing to note maybe? the photo icons on my desktop are not "opening up" automatically --they are remaining little white icons ("jpg" "png") until I click on them...

Also I don't see my launchpad in my dock...

it's an iMac Retina 4K 21.5" late 2015 running 10.13.6 High Sierra, has 864.35 GB available of 999.35 GB

Thanks for any help!

Hmmm,

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report...

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck.
