My iPhone and laptop

When I plugged my phone charger into my MacBook Air it asked trust this computer and I clicked trust, not even 20 seconds later it asked again and i clicked trust and now it keeps asking me if I can trust this computer or not. I restarted (turned my computer and iPhone off for 1 min and 30 sec ) both my iPhone and computer and used a different cord and it still does the same thing and I can’t even do anything on my phone because it keeps popping up. Anybody know how I fix this?

Hi, Sierra_lyn.

I'm glad you decided to reach out on Apple Support Communities today. If I understand correctly, your iPhone is being repeatedly asked to trust your the computer when connecting to your MacBook Air. I can certainly see how this would prevent you from some things on your iPhone, so I’m happy to try and work through this with you.

I may have a few suggestions that could help you resolve this loop.

  • Update both devices. I realize you aren’t able to easily update via connecting to your MacBook Air. You may need to update via Settings on your iPhone, or using recovery mode with your MacBook Air. Whichever you choose, make sure you have a current backup before you update. These articles will help:

Update iOS on iPhone

  • Try restarting both your iPhone and your MacBook Air again.

Restart iPhone

How to turn your Mac on or off

Reset your privacy settings on your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy.

* You may receive prompts to allow permissions for various apps again after this step.

Test your connection after each step. If you’re still getting the repeated prompt after resetting your iPhone privacy settings, try resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac. In the event the issue is a power disconnection with your MacBook Air, this will reset the power flow on your machine.

Still not able to get your iPhone to save the trust certificate? I would contact Apple Support for more advanced assistance.

Take care.
