My MacBook Air 2013 says there is a software update for the new Catalina version. I click Update Now and Restart Now. The computer shuts off the black screen with the apple appears and the status bar fills in very quickly. My computer starts back up and the update isn't installed. I've tried a few times. How can I update?

Try running the installer from Safe Boot Mode

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login and launch the installer.

What version of Catalina is currently installed on your computer? Have you tried Download and Install the macOS Catalina 10.15.4 Combo Update?
