I think it took several hours to down load it but it takes several seconds to install it on my Mac.
Whenever Apple logo and progress bar are shown, it just take several seconds for the progress bar to complete. After finishing progress bar, my Mac reboots and shows windows which tell me there are an available update macOS Catalina 10.15.4.
I have no idea why it won't be installed on my Mac.

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login to proceed.
Well, that didn’t go so well. I booted to my clone drive, downloaded the combo upgrade, and then booted to safe mode. Here is my result??? Any suggestions?
Same problem here, i am still on MacOS Catalina 1.15.1, its a macbook air late 2018, just over a year old, 40 gbs available out of the 128, when i restart it thorough the update windows, i am back to 1.15.1, it just brings me back to the 'update is available screen', any workarounds for this, also where are the update files stored? The update ate up 5 gbs on my ssd, sad. And even if i update through the combo update, where and how can i remove the previous update files :C, I have tried installing it like 15 times now, tried reseting the PRAM, tried booting up in safe mode etc
Have you tried to install it with over 20 GB of space available? Did it work?
I also have the same problem. I try to install 10.15.4 on 10.15.1 and every time I try to install, the installer shows up again after reboot. I have ca. 16 GB free space.
So, its an issue with the installer perhaps? Quite possible, I even have a 2017 imac, which runs high sierra till last month, i tried upgrading directly to 1.15.4, but it just wouldnt want to, it showed the same screen as yours, so to fix this issue, i had installed an older version of catalina, 1.15, the first version, and then it worked like magic. After the upgrade, i updated to 10.15.4. Thats quite odd, it has a 1 TB Fusion drive with about 800 gbs free. And this problem didnt happen on my 2015 pro. I updated from mac os el capitan 10.11.6, directly to 10.14.5 yesterday, it worked like a breeze. Keep in mind i have even changed the thermal paste and upgraded the ram from 8 to 16 on that thing, its still my primary laptop for video encoding and xCode due to its cpu horse power. Despite of my air being newer hardware (even though its **** slower than my pro), its still having issues upgrading from 10.15.1 to 10.15.4, or even for that matter 10.15. And as my laptop is out of warranty, i cant ask them anything in the genius bar. Godamn it apple
Had the same problem of 10.15.4 not installing on my MacBook Air. I cleared up space. Made around 30GB available on the HD and then, the update worked like a breeze. Took about half an hour though.
