Removing Blue line in Forwarded Emails

I have seen this a lot over the years and had forgotten how to do it, and seen lots of long-winded ways of doing it in these support forums for individual emails as, mine have been forwarding without the blue line for years so, I had forgotten how to do it. Due to numerous problems in Catalina and having to re-install a couple of times my setting had changed. I asked Apple support many times recently and they had no idea howe to do it.

Here's how to do it if you do not know:

Open Mac Mail Preferences. Whilst in Mac Mail, from the top menu bar click on Mail and then Preferences.

Under Composing > click on the Composing tab and Uncheck the “Increase quote level” checkbox.

One site I found said this below first, but I would have thought that once you have done the above the colour aspect of ongoing forwarding lines is irrelevant:

Fonts and Colors. Click on the Fonts and Colors tab and uncheck the “Color quoted text” checkbox.
