Reading book on iBooks on multiple devices, sync highlights and comments.

Hi,

I am reading a book from iBooks. When I go out I take my iPhone with me and so read

it from there. A bus ride, subway, work, etc. When I am home I prefer to read

it on my iPad. I would like to sync the comments and highlights on my book

across these two devices. I find it to be quite a basic and reasonable feature,

or is it too much to ask for the 21st century?

iPhone XS, iOS 13

Hello ShynnSup,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that you'd like to access Apple Books comments and highlights on your iPhone and iPad. You've come to the right place! The following steps can help:

"To keep your Books information updated across your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, sign with the same Apple ID on each device, then do the following:

  • Sync Reading position, bookmarks, notes, and highlights: Go to Settings  > [your name] > iCloud, then turn on both iCloud Drive and Books.
  • Sync Reading Now, Library, and collections: Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud, and turn on both iCloud Drive and Books. Then go to Settings > Books, and turn on Reading Now.

See Set up iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."
