iPhone microphone & camera is not working

Hey,

My phone this morning is suddenly not letting me have access to the microphone or camera which means I can’t use WhatsApp or even make a call on Facebook. It’s also not letting me save my contacts which it has deleted from my WhatsApp as well. I have tried pretty much everything and please look at the pictures attached to confirm.

if you have any advice please help as speaking on WhatsApp is the only way I can speak to my partner who is abroad.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re having issues allowing apps to access your iPhone camera and microphone. I’ll be happy to help.

To verify, are you having any issues using the front or rear facing cameras in the Camera or FaceTime apps? Does the microphone work in the Voice Memos app?

If those work as expected, and the issue just seems to be with other apps accessing the camera and mic, try restarting your iPhone:

Restart your iPhone

If that doesn’t help, ensure it is up to date:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Delete one of the affected apps, restart your iPhone, and install the app back onto your device then test again if the issue continues.
