I have a 2012 MacBook Pro, after updating to Catalina, I can't use the camera for any app. After going through the community posts and trying the resolutions, the camera is still showing as unavailable.
I used the 'sudo killall VDCAssistant" command in the terminal and a "no matching processes were found" was returned.
How can I resolve a missing VDC Assistant issue?

I used the "sudo killall AppleCameraAssistant" command in the terminal which worked but I had to do it every couple of days so it was only ever temporary. I took it to the Apple Store & they discovered that the camera cable had popped out of the lug that it clips into and that's what was causing the issue. No problem since then.
I'm also having trouble with camera. I don't know if it was because of Zoom, but I certainly have Zoom downloaded and always take classes with it. Camera is not recognized in any softwares. It is so annoying. Please give us solution apple support.

I am having the exact same problem.
After using zoom the camera is not being recognized. Photo Booth says there is no connected camera.
Does anyone has the solution to this problem?

Interesting you talk about the problem after install Zoom. I believe that exactly the same happened to me. And still trying to fix it.

Zoom was exactly how my camera stopped working! Ever since my first video chat, which was unsuccessful, it has not came back on. Keep getting the same error.
