To limit iCloud space ...

Hi,

To limit and optimize the use of iCloud space, is it possible to chose on which device I can store the original photo ?

I would like to keep all my originals on my iMac while syncing all the photos between my different devices in smaller resolution. Since space is not an issue on my iMac, that would reduce substantially the space required in iCloud to store my photos.

iCloud photos on Mac(how to remove them) ? Hello, I have a question. I payed for 50GB iCloud storage on my iPhone and I then found that every photo is even on my MacBook and it takes 21GB. Photo storage on iCloud Drive I have iCloud Photos turned off on all my devices (and I don't think I've ever had it on, or if I did, it was only briefly), but I still have lots of photos taking up space on my iCloud Drive; I can log into iCloud and see photos going back 3 years or so, up to a couple of weeks ago. I am using my photostream, but that isn't supposed to count against my iCloud storage. I'm trying to save space on iCloud. Can I delete those photos from my iCloud drive without deleting anything from my Mac, iPhone, or iPad? I back up all my devices to my Mac, not iCloud, for what it's worth. Thanks!

iCloud is needed in the sync to populate any other devices.and ** design, iCloud will always store the full sized files.

You can only optimize a device, not iCloud itself.

Thanks ... Trying to add a shared iCloud space to a family member already sharing another space confirms that it is not possible to do that.
