Safari 13.1 will not load specific pages. HELP!!

I have a Mac Pro (early 2009) and running High Sierra 10.13.6.. Just today SAFARI 13.1 started to give me lots of problems. Many pages on the web just won't load. The error message says "the page was reloaded because an error occurred)

this is what I get when trying to load a page on ebay.

I have deleted cache, turned off extensions etc.. Nothing works.

Can anyone help??

Mac Pro, macOS 10.13

So, I have followed the below with success...

  1. Clean out existing Safari settings of cookies, history, passwords, etc.
  2. Disable Javascript
  3. Install newest Java
  4. Re-install HS with Ctl-R option from internet
  5. Install Safari 13.1 from

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/46/01/061-46316/xvsfnpjvttr5ah1yuj5mpb5x1vvdtytqsv/Safari13.1HighSierraAuto.pkg

Enable Javascript

Enable Cookies

All appears operational.

Apple has not provided any guidance to solve the issue.

A reinstall of the OS is painless and quick.

Please refer to ancoca posting just before yours for details on how to do this.

My system now works perfectly again.

Cheers

Did you try to reinstall Safari only? You can find download link in other thread:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251213636

I'm on High Sierra and have no problems after reinstallation of Safari only.

Prior to that I uninstalled Java and installed latest Java - not sure if that had anything to do with succeeding though.

Make sure you get the Safari installation pkg from apple servers.

Hi all,

I'm experiencing this issue as well. I'm running High Sierra 10.13.6 on a late 2011 MBP (original specs except a Samsung SSD and upgraded RAM). Problem websites are fine on Firefox and Chrome, yet Safari causes the same reload loop you all are experiencing. Reassuring to see I'm not the only one.

Troubleshooting I've tried:

  • moved com.apple.Safari.plist to trash
  • emptied caches via Developer menu
  • deleted website data
  • Created Guest account to isolate
  • disabled Flash ( I don't have extensions so n/a)

I have not reinstalled Java or High Sierra, as I think those are excessive and this seems to be a bug in the latest update. Hope this is resolved soon!

Hello,

You should try this Fix:

1)

  • Open Safari and then go to the Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Remove All Website Data.
  • Open Finder and go to Go > Go to Folder. Type ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db. Press on Go. Then Delete this file.
  • Restart Safari

2)

Make Sure that JavaScript is Turned ON

3)

Reinstall Java (Mac Only) (HOW TO:)

Uninstall Java

  • Open Finder > Applications > Search for JavaAppletPlugin.plugin.
  • Right click on file and then select Move to Trash.

Install Java

  • Download Java from the official Oracle website.
  • Open the jre-8u121-macosx-x64.dmg (or whichever version is the latest) by double clicking on it.
  • Go forward in the installation screen and then press Continue.
  • Press Install in the next screen.
  • Hit Close to finish the installation.

Try Reload the Website after fix.

Hope you fix the problem,

Kiều

I have the exact same issue. It started yesterday after I updated Safari to version 13.1. I'm running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6. Webpages are spontaneously reloading and then I get the same error message "A problem repeatedly occurred with <URL>". I am able to load those pages just fine with Chrome, but I prefer to use Safari. Is there a bug in the 13.1 Safari update? Is there a way to revert to the previous version? Any other suggestions?

I am having the same issue with my MacPro Mid 2012 running High Sierra. Started having this issue after update Safari 13.1. Spent an hour with support, cleared browser history, etc. but ran out of time (Support hours OT.) I have a case number and will followup 4/2 in the AM. If we are able to resolve, I'll post the fix.

I have the same issue. Upgrade to safari 13.1 Via auto update on high Sierra. This is similar to a safari issue several years ago where a JavaScript loops and the page reloads till it can’t any more. If I then turn off JavaScript in the develop menu the page will display (although missing everything that the JS does). This happens on major pages like the New York Times and Bank of America. I’m forced to use chrome which I don’t like. Apple, step up and fix this please.

Same here, my advisor (after several tries and over an hour on the phone) ultimately advised me to reinstall the operating system. In all fairness, I believe my advisor sincerely did his best to get me squared away to no avail. I'm certain there is a bug in the 13.1 Safari update that must be fixed. I am finding more of same type of behavior with primarily bank/financial web sites. ChaseBank, Citibank Synchrony Bank and eBay are the sites I've found so far that are not working.

Hopefully, Apple will do the right thing and fix this bug for us.

Loco, I have this same problem since I got a new iPhone 7. I had to upgrade my iMac software to sync to the iPhone. Since then I have had problems with the iMac connecting to Chase Bank and other websites but I can connect to Synchrony Band for my BP CC.I However, I can login on my iPhone to Chase Bank. I will use Firefox on the iMac until Safari can be fixed. Be safe and be well.

Safari 13.1 will not load specific pages. HELP!!
