iPhone 11 Pro wide angle stopped working

Hi,

Recently my wide angle camera function stopped working and when I open the camera app it automatically pops into 2x and only allows me to zoom out to 1x but not. .5(screen shots below), all options work on video. I’ve updated to latest iOS, restarted phone, closed and reopened camera still know luck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I use the wide angle for work all the time.

Cheers Craig

I had this issue. No amount of reset/restoring fixed it. I chatted with apple tech support online. They ran a remote diagnostic. They confirmed there was something wrong. They scheduled an appointment for me at my local Best Buy. The tech there ran the same diagnostic test again... "CAMERA ISSUE REAR CAMERA WIDE ANGLE LENS NOT FUNCTIONING, IS NOT DETECTED IN MRI." The fix was a rear camera replacement, which Best Buy had in stock. It took about 45 minutes. It cost $109. I'm disappointed the camera stopped working after less than 2 years of gentle ownership. However, I am grateful that I did not have to mail the phone in. If reset/restore does not work for you, you will need to get your rear camera replaced. There is no other fix if your camera is not detected. Good luck!

This is ridiculous. I already traded my first iPhone 11 Pro because it was turning off by itself. This is my second and now I have to deal with a wide leans camera that doesn’t work after 2 weeks. Updated to latest Software, did a hard restart. Not a very dependable phone. I hate google phones but at least they don’t break down after a week

It looks like a common problem, that I am also having. I notice from various forums that all the typical fixes don’t work. I tried everything. From what I can gather, it has something to do with iCloud conflict, and in typical Apple fashion, they refuse to to provide any information to users - just a series of time wasting rote fix recommendations that work for no one.

Has anyone tried the factory reset and start from scratch? Did it work?

Does anyone has a solution yet? I've tried everything I could do. Reset all settings, reset network settings, force restart, installed Procam, and even hard reset without restoring a backup nor signing into my apple id, it still doesn't work. My phone warranty has already finished just a week ago and it's making crazy going through all this stuffs. Apple can you please help us?

They told me to bring it in for actual examination. If you read back on the threads, some had to pay for a camera replacement. As mine is 5 months out of warranty and I don’t have Apple Care, I’d probably have to pay for the camera replacement (like some people did). I ultimately decided no to bring my phone to the Apple Store as I’m trying to stay home due to the pandemic.
