Apple TV Acting Strange

This is a weird one.. every time I press the Menu button or the Apple TV button while watching a show, the screen goes black with green lines. Even when pressing the menu button it doesn't leave the show I'm currently watching. It sometimes takes several clicks to just get out of the show. I have an LG TV. I've tried unplugging the Apple TV and restarting it and it still happens.
