Wifi symbol in middle of ipad screen

Anyone know how to get rid of annoying wifi symbol that suddenly appeared in middle of ipad home screen. Turning off the machine doesn’t seem to help. Does not appear to be correnlated with anything.

iPad Pro 10.5-inch, Wi-Fi

Just for the heck of it, I , for the third time, turned the ipad off and on. The symbol is now gone. ???? Thanks
