settings for e-mail password changes on iphone XR

I have changed all my e-mail passwords. Everything was working fine when I used webmail on laptop. However on i-phone XR even though I have been into settings and changed all the passwords I cannot get any mail other than that for my primary email address. A box comes up asking me to verify that I have entered the correct account info in mail settings. I only changed the password and did not alter any other settings. Can anyone help?

iPhone XR, iOS 13

Hello mooleena,

Thanks for posting! Being able to access your email is critical, and I'm happy to see how I can help. As I understand it, you changed your email password, and you're unable to use the email account on your iPhone. Is that correct?

You mentioned you're only getting email for your primary address. How many accounts are having this issue? Are they all from the same email service provider?

This resource, titled If you can’t send email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, has a few steps that may be useful. If your accounts are IMAP rather than POP, it might help to try the steps below:

"Remove your email account and set it up again

  1. On your computer, sign in to your email provider’s website. Make sure that all of your email is there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than your iOS device.
  2. On your iOS device, go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts.
  3. Tap the email account that you want to remove.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
  5. Add your account again."

Take care.

You state that only your primary email is working. How many other accounts are not working? Each individual email account will have its own password, so you have to go into each account and change the password for the incoming server, and the outgoing (SMTP) server. Those are all accessed in Settings>Passwords & Accounts, and then select each individual account.

Sorry, you tacked onto a previous thread, and I thought I responded to the OP. You didn't provide any information, so I have no way of knowing what your problem seems to be. It would help if you described what you did, what went wrong, and what you have done to try and fix it. How many different email accounts do you have, and are they all in your default Mail app on your device. Also, what device do you have and what iOS?
