My Mac screen suddenly went dark when I went from inside to outside. We have tried all the basic things. It’s fully charged. Still black when plugged in. Have rebooted it. With a flashlight I was able to sign in and check brightness light which is at full. I can make out the screen only when using a flashlight. Any suggestions?

I surmise something broke. You're welcome to review all the steps in If your Mac starts up to a blank screen but most of them don't apply since I assume you are able to log in. The display isn't blank, it's just dark. No backlight.
I doubt they will help, and in your case I'd skip all the way to the bottom of that document and contact Apple Support.
Thanks. I tried doing this but I still have a black screen. It turns on and I can barely make out my username with a flashlight. But it is still dark
