MacBook Air 2020 shows blurry when doing FaceTime

I have been frustrated with the picture quality on my 2020 MBA since I bought it. Finally tried to figure out the problem and came across this thread. So disappointed in Apple.

YES, I am So Frustrated. And I'm past the 14-day return policy. I'm going to check the apple care fine print. Has the issue been resolved for you?

Sadly, Apple has not replied to this thread. What is worse is teachers having to deal with the quality as they try to teach kids remotely.

yh im having problems too its not just you every who has a macbook air 2020 there camera is blurry.

Apple messed up big time on MacBook 2020 camera. They must do a recall on all MacBook 2020 and install a genuine and quality camera.

No much better and VERY poor compared with my Wife's HP laptop.

Hi All,

I faced the same issue. Here is what I did so far and suggest to do:

• Call Apple customer support and ask them to connect senior advisor (This is after all other troubleshooting done including re-install the OS, its a waste of time and Apple now know it a hardware issue)
• Apple know this issue as of now already. But they are not agreeing on replacement the Mac yet
• Tell them this issue, they can give you option for a repair (replacement of Camera) through local authorized Apple care (For me they asked to go to Simply Mac store and get the Camera replaced)
• This replacement will not cost to you
• Even after this replacement doesn't work they said they'll replace the MacBook

Ughhh... Just purchased this computer Friday and I'm having this exact problem the "blurry visual" in the camera. This is unacceptable, especially being that it is such a lump sum of money buying this product. Very disappointed.

I was utterly shocked when I went on zoom. How can the iPhone cameras be so good and this hugely expensive laptop have a grainy camera?!!

Why won’t Apple respond and do something about it? It’s just not right.
