Scanner Error -9923 with HP Deskjet 5258 printer OS Sierra

In System Preferences, under Printers and Scanners, when I select Scan and then Open Scanner, I get the message "An error occurred while communicating with the scanner -9923." Printer prints documents ok. I had the same problem with the HP Smart app installed - but Apple says this printer is supported under AirPrint, so the HP Smart app is sitting in the trash. I still am getting the -9923 error.

PROBLEM SOLVED: Thanks so much, i_rina, for your reply. I have found the solution to my problem. First of all, I do not need the hp printer software - called Hp Smart, I believe - had it, got rid of it. Second, I went in to the main menu on my printer, clicked the wireless icon (my printer has a wireless connection to my computer), chose the gear icon (settings), chose Advanced Settings, found IPv6, and turned it off. Since I did that - problem solved.
