Has anyone using 10.15.4 been able to get the necessary 64 bit app compatible from brother or not? I have been on hold for 30 minutes, with brother waiting for a representative to assist. So far, I have not been able to use my printer/scanner now since, I updated the new operating system and I am getting pretty fed up with APPLE now. Let's find a solution before, I switch everything over to PC and an ANDROID....

You can download the driver from Brother: https://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadtop.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=hl2280dw_us

You don't need any app to print. You can use Apple's built-in app Image Capture to scan.

It doesn't matter to anyone here if you switch to PC and Android but I have used Brother products with PCs and while their support for computer operating system upgrades is better than other printer manufacturers I have experience with, the problems with PCs were comparable to Macs.

We can certainly understand your frustration, but I don't see that as a good reason to take it out on Apple. They do not build the printer nor write its software. If you have a problem it seems to me it would be with Brother. If you decide to switch, you will have spent a fair amount of money for a new PC, all of the needed software, and very likely have poorer support. We hear often about the more complex problems that PCs have with their varied conflicts. Certainly no manufacturer is perfect, but in the many years I've used Apple products, they have been far superior to the PCs I had to use. Maybe you will eventually come back to Apple and we will be glad to again welcome you to this blog. Good luck.
