Problems with parent controls and google chrome on Mac

The Mac's parent controls do not seem to work for google chrome, which we need for online schooling. Some of the google functions don't work in safari, so I can't restrict access to the app. I couldn't find any parent control settings on chrome. I see that there is a Family Link app - but am not confident that I can use that with a school set-up google account. Also - is there way to allow some youtube sites, such as teacher presentations, and then block non-ed sites on youtube? We are also having a problem with that.

We'd appreciate any and all ideas.

Thanks

Still having trouble with the first part. I can't even stop google chrome from being accessible on the Mac.

https://support.google.com/families/answer/9116646?hl=en&ref_topic=7336331 Family link doesn't work with computers.

the bark link says the same thing "When you use Family Link to manage your child’s Google Account, you can let your child sign in to some Google apps (Gmail and YouTube) on their iPhone or iPad. However, the following settings won’t work:

  • Screen time limits
  • Device location
  • App activity
  • Blocking apps & app permissions
  • Google Chrome website and permission restrictions"

Even if it did, he needs access to his school account which is not a child account.

Thanks for trying though.
