Apple Mail stopped working with Exchange Office 365

Early on 4/7/20, the Exchange Email I have set up on Apple Mail stopped working on my laptops and desktop. I was able to get it set back up on my 2020 laptop and it continued working on my iPhone however, I have been unable to get it set back up on my iMAC Desktop computer which uses os version 10.12.6. I was able to get an account set up in Apple Mail however, it does not connect to my mail. It says 'Unable to verify account name or password.' I am able to use my mail thru the mail server's website though, this is not as convenient as using my MAC Mail. My guess is Apple did an update and it messed up my mail account. Hopefully they will fix it or someone in the community is able to come up with a work around. Any help is appreciated.

I see that you're having a problem using your Exchange account in the Mail application on your iMac. You keep getting a message that the account can't be verified, and I'm glad to help with this.


Manage passwords using keychains on Mac -- If you use iCloud Keychain, check the username and password that's saved.


If Mail on your Mac keeps asking for your password -- If you aren't using iCloud Keychain, or the username and password were correct, review the information and apply the steps provided in this article.


Use Mail Connection Doctor -- You can also use Mail Connection Doctor to see where the error occurs.
