iPhone 11 Pro Max Not Working As It Should

I got my brand new iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB a month ago.

first problem I noticed was the screen kept hanging for a few seconds this was noticeable when trying to type. Tapping the screen wasn’t recognised for a few seconds and it did this constantly at random times. And it still does.

second issue I noticed was one app I use the audio skips when using wired headphones. However using the app via the phone speakers it works fine. Iv contacted the devs who maintain the app is working fine....

third issue which kind of ties in with the second one. I’m now getting cracking noises through the phone speakers when using certain apps. I’m running the latest iOS and all apps are up to date.

fourth issue. The phone randomly locks the screen even when using it. This is especially annoying if I get a call. I open the case and as soon as I press answer the screen locks cutting the call off.

i know it’s not common for an iPhone to go bad. But this is only a month old. This surely cannot he normal?

i had issues with the phone as soon as I got it out the box. When i was setting it up it jammed 7 times on the system software “updated requested” screen. At one point I was still on that same screen an hour later. I had to force restart the phone each time before it finally downloaded it.

my neatest Apple store is about 5 miles away. And it would be closed anyway due to current global circumstances. Apple support online are also closed.

is any of you guys having these same issues??

Hey Dave35m,

I see that you're experiencing multiple issues with your iPhone and I'd like to help.

Do you have Attention Aware turned on? If so, please turn it off temporarily and test to see if your device will still randomly lock while in use.

About Attention Aware features on your iPhone X or iPad Pro

The next step would be to make sure you have a fresh backup of your device.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Then reinstall iOS. You'll want to follow the steps listed under the section, "If your device turns on but gets stuck during start up" of the following article:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen

Also, review this article for issues with the display:

If the screen isn’t working on your iPhone or iPad

Best regards.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. None of the above works. As I said when I first got the phone it got jammed 7 times on the request update screen forcing me to force restart the phone each time. I did a reset last week and it’s not solved any of these issues. Im guessing that it’s most defiantly either a firmware issue or a hardware issue as the crackling/popping noises from the phones speakers are getting worse and louder at times.

as for the apps I’m having the issues with the same apps run perfectly fine on my older iPhone. Which makes me believe it is in fact this iPhone 11 that is faulty in some way.

another phone I had the iPhone 7 Plus had a similar issue again related to the sound. If playing a game with the sound on the phone would overheat making the display look like it was in slow motion and moving in frames. To the point where the game became completely unplayable. The only way I could play a game on it was to manually keep the phone cool with a fan stood in front of it. Something no one should have to do. This was also reported to Apple who chose to ignore it then. and the iPhone 7 Plus was also new at the time. I ended up going back to android until I was due to upgrade. And once again I get another new iPhone that has even more issues. I had a feeling this would happen when it was causing issues straight out the box the second it was turned on.

i don’t know what it is but there’s something wrong with this 11.

anyway sorry for the long reply bud I’ll just have to by some miracle contact Apple. There making even that impossible for me atm. Thanks again for your reply.

It was supplied by my network but it’s not carrier locked. And it arrived sealed. I’m based in the uk but things here are just as bad as everywhere else.

the popping noises can be scary. You hear so many stories about phones blowing up due to faulty batteries etc you don’t know what’s happening with this. It won’t be the battery but the louder and more frequent it gets it does get the mind going.
