How to Delete Partially Downloaded macOS Catalina file

Hi,

I tried updating to MacOS Catalina but the update failed because my wifi connection got interrupted. This happened twice, and it seems that the partially downloaded file(s) has taken up a lot of space, however I cannot find it and delete it to restart the download. I don't have enough space at the moment, so I really need to delete it before I try again. Has anyone else faced a similar problem and managed to get it sorted?

Thanks!

Hi there!

As I mentioned, I tried downloading it twice; First, a few weeks ago - I didn't notice how much space it took up exactly by the time it stopped, although I'm certain it was more than 4GB. The second time was a few days ago; it seemed that the download started all over again despite these 4GB having supposedly already been downloaded. This second time, the download was almost complete when the wifi connection got interrupted and I was minus 8GB in storage space (on top of the previous 4).

But when I try to restart the download for a third time (after deleting a couple of other files to free up some space), it starts from scratch and does not resume from where it was left. I just don't understand where this storage space has gone and why I cannot locate the partially downloaded file.
