hi everybody - I recently upgraded to Catalina and some easy terminal commands no longer work. Previously, I was able to hide select drives/volumes on my desktop with the simple terminal commands
chflags hidden /volumes/"name of drive"
chflags nohidden /volumes/"name of drive"
Apparently that no longer works in Catalina.
Does anyone have any ideas or work arounds so that I can hide these volumes?

How about from Terminal, copy and paste:
sudo SetFile -a V /Volumes/"Drive Name" && killall Finder

How about from Terminal, copy and paste:
sudo SetFile -a V /Volumes/"Drive Name" && killall Finder
What about doing it through the GUI? Finder menu > Preferences > General and uncheck mark "External hard drives".
Hi - Thanks for the suggestion. This is a great simple solution, however, I would like to only hide specific volumes, and as most of my drives are external, selecting "external disks" will hide them all. Thanks for the suggestion!
