iTunes has bricked my phone

Yesterday I tried to update my iPhone 4 from iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 7.1.2 , since then I have not been able to get my phone out of recovery mode. No matter what I do it will not leave recovery mode. I have tried holding sleep and home to reboot the phone and it just goes back to the recovery mode screen. Restoring through iTunes either gives me errors 4005 and 4013. And when it restores without any problems it just lands back on the recovery mode screen, choosing update instead of restore does the same thing.

If you have followed all of the steps in that article, including reinstalling iTunes on your computer, disabling firewalls and antivirus, then there is nothing you can do other than replace your 10 year old phone.
