After 10.15.4 iMac update went from Ferrari to Golf Cart speed

I just maxed out my memory on my 2015 iMac to 32GB. I restarted it and it was screaming fast. Applications opened as soon as I clicked on them. Photoshop rendered almost immediately. It was awesome....till last night my iMac automatically updated. This morning I got on and now Im back to speeds when I had 16 GB of memory. This is not the first time I have noticed this.This happened last 2 time when I upgraded memory on iMac or MacBook. It was crazy sports car fast then along comes an upgrade and ruins everything no matter how long I wait to upgrade. Anyone for golf?

PS. Don't bother replying "do a recovery to backup before update".

It is not unusual for performance to be degraded immediately after an upgrade, or an update. Use your "golf cart" for 24 hours and try a Safe Mode start: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

After the Safe Mode start, restart normally and hopefully you will once again have a "Ferrari." Both of those startups will take longer than a usual startup.
