2019 Macbook Pro 16" and BenQ PD2700U Connected via USB-C to Display Port or Mini Display port?

I have a Benq p2700u monitor that I have hooked up to my 2019 16" Macbook Pro. I have it connected with a USB C to Display port cable. I am able to select 60hz and check the box for HDR, also the Monitor gives me a notification saying "HDR ON". I saw online that the mini display port on the monitor is also thunderbolt 2. Am I better off connecting it with that port in order to fully take advantage of the 10 Bit HDR? Also how am I able to check that I'm actually running those settings properly?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 16", macOS 10.15

Hello CRM514,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you are using a Benq P2700u monitor with our MacBook Pro. You currently have it connected via a USB-C to Display Port cable. You are wondering if connecting it to the Mini Display Port on the monitor would be a better option. I would recommend taking a look at the following support article to setup and use an external monitor with your Mac. It will provide information for you to make decisions about your configuration.
