My Mac is going crazy.

Hi Community!

I have a problem with my MacBook Air (used from 2014 - now).

I want to connect my iPhone 8 with my MacBook through cable but if I do so and leave it connected it just connects and disconnects in a 1-second span and it doesn't stop. I haven't been able to do a BackUp for my phone for weeks now and I work strange hours so I'm not able to contact customer support.

Please help me. I'm at a loss.

First I'd try a different cable just to be sure you can rule that out.

Second I'd try restarting the phone and MacBook and trying again.

Third I'd make sure that the MacBook and the iPhone are using the most up-to-date software release.
