Front Camera not working after ios 13.4.1 update

Exactly what is happening with me, if you go to your settings go to snapchat and turn off camera and go back onto the snapchat app and as soon as it loads swipe as quick as you can twice to someone’s messages, a pop up comes up saying it will take you to settings to turn camera on, press that but don’t turn the camera on and go back to snapchat, you can at least message people and view snapchats, just as soon as you go back on the camera and the front screen it crashes again 🤦‍♂️ this really needs sorting ASAP

I have the same problem I would like just to add that neither with Facetime I'm able to do videocalls, I have contacted Apple Support and the told me to try reset the phone to factory setting and try (1) to restore a backup and (2) set it up as a new iphone. I tried both approaches but the problem is not solved. I'm quite sure that the problem depends on iOS 13.4.1, Apple please release a fix ASAP.

yes I faced this problem from the first update 13.4 arrived, after trying I downgrade back to 13.3.1 and all returned to normal, unfortunately I forgot the automatic update that made my iPhone back to 13.4.1, and now the downgrade path has been closed by apple we are forced to enjoy this 🤪

Same problem I am facing in my iPhone X not only 3rd party apps but in apple official camera app not working front camera after the update of 13.4.1

i was android user I decided to switch on iPhone but that was my biggest mistake of my life I swear I will not buy any iPhone Ever at any cost

Yeah same I have an iPhone 7 and the update ruined Snapchat the front camera won’t work it just crashes the app and on insta it just freezes when I use the front camera and FaceTime won’t work either

I have the same problem with my iPhone 7 plus. Everything had been working perfectly until I updated to iOS14.3.1.

After update, every app that uses the front camera crashes. Even FaceTime app which is not a third party app, fails when I want to start a video call. I tried FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp, google Duo, Viber, SnappChat, Facebook Messenger, and Zoom. All are the same.

I called Apple support center, but they didn’t accept that there is a problem with the new update. I think more people is needed to report this problem and force them fix this issue.

I’m soooo frustrated!! It seems like everyone is having this issue. Is Apple seeing this?? Every time I get on IG or FaceTime the selfie camera crashes my phone. So are they going to put out another update to fix this??

The exact same issue with me. Snapchat will glitch out when I use my from camera, kick me off the app and the only way I can go back on it is if I delete and reinstall the app. All my other apps like FaceTime, Instagram and TikTok are having similar problems. Tried 2 different types of factory resets but they did not work. Also tried setting the phone to the last update which didn’t work either

They told me they’d never seen this before. Which is clearly lies. They ran diagnostics and said fault with a sensor? Then it got escalated to a senior person who told me to reset it or send the phone off. He said there had been an error when the phone installed updates and said it was definitely a hardware issue not the phone. I’ve requested a call back today at 12.15 and going to tell them to read this thread.

a yes this is not the problem hardware I've tried to replace the module with the camera from the icloud iphone lock but nothing changed, this is likely to occur in variants 7, 7 plus, maybe that's what makes only a few reports and Apple did not notice,

Well I have this problem since I have I updated to iOS 13.4.1, no solution so far. So I have updated to iOS 13.5 beta to check whether it is fixed or not, unfortunately still not fixed. Seems some changes they have made to FaceTime caused this issue and no one seems to care.

Apple has released the iOS 13.5 GM (Golden Master) build yesterday, This means 13.5 version will be released very soon, I have updated to GM build and still the issue is not addressed. Who ever having Apple care support, please raise your concerns with them, nobody from Apple check these forums as it seems.

I tried to update from 13.5 beta 4 to the GM version and got stuck in recovery mode.

Updating didn't work but recovery to 13.4.1 did, that did solve my problem.

Note that a shake had solved the partially, except for face id, on my iPhone 11 Max Pro.

In the beginning I had no cameras nor flashlight (nor face id).

After giving the device a shake the camera worked but not face id (this worked on one of the iOS 13.5 betas).

After the recovery to 13.4.1, all works fine.

Still no excuse for leaving me without a cameras, flashlight (use it a lot) nor faceid for two months for a device that's less than a year old.
