Can't Select Text to Copy and Paste

Since updating to iOS 13.4.1, I'm no longer able to select text in a browser, in order to copy and paste it. I can select, copy, and paste in other apps such as iMessage, email, Notes, etc. But, just now when I'm in a browser, reading an article from which I want to copy and paste text. Sadly, after some searching online, I can't find anyone else complaining about this issue. I have an iPhone SE, with the latest update.

Thanks, Brenden. This was helpful. I was able to select and copy in the Safari browser, but not in the third party browser where I experienced the problem to begin with. So, I've notified the developers of that browser, to let them know of the bug. Hopefully, they'll discover I'm not the only one with the problem, and will push out a fix. Thanks, again.

Brenden,

I just swapped out my iPhone 6 for the SE. On the Amazon app they give you tracking but not much detail for the tracking so I like to copy and then paste into my browser to tracking via USPS or whichever carrier they decide to use for shipping. Just so happens I was in the middle of an order when I swapped my phone out. I still have the 6 and I am able to click the tracking number, the entire number is highlighted, and then I can go from there. However, on the SE, I cannot click the number. When I try, nothing happens. No cursor, no highlighted text, no nothing. I cannot select anything. Not sure what is going on since they are both on the same IOS. Thanks for your help.

I have exactly same issue as yours. I have an iPhone 11. Copy and paste stops working months ago. I called the Apple support and their answer was: those websites probably just don't allow you to copy and paste, Amazon maybe enabled copy and paste, we don't know what happened with those websites. What a clever answer.

For what it’s worth iOS 13.6 in July 2020

i can select text (blue with the handles) bring up the context menu with the copy cut etc options , click on copy (which visually then like it did a copy to clipboard. Simple text.

the go to another form in a different app to paste in the result. Select the field brings up the copy paste menu and select paste and it appears to paste nothing. Nadda.

min my case copy an email address from a google app page and the trying to paste it in the to files of Apple mail app new message window. But that’s just one use case.

if one can select text clearly and bring up and execute the copy command I think it’s correct to assume that this TEXT is in the clipboard to be pasted elsewhere with a similar paste operation.

why the heck is this so **** difficult for operating systems to get working, this very basic low level function?

I believe this is the same problem I am having. I (THINK I) can copy text but anywhere I go to paste it, I don’t get the paste option. The reason I said I think I can copy is because I can at least get the handles and the copy button appears so I tap it, however, sometimes I try to paste and I get nothing (Like the paste button doesn’t even appear) and other times IF something does appear it is the Select/Select All buttons.

So, I assume when I hit copy it is actually copying but since I can’t EVER paste it, I honestly have no idea if it’s copying or not. Being with iPhone since the very first one copy and paste was the greatest thing ever when it came out. Using it for as long as I have (and seemingly more and more as of late) it is EXTREMELY frustrating to not have it working. I am surprised it is taking this long to get fixed.
