itunes library

I just purchased 4 new songs in itunes and want to move them to my ipod. When I click sync it asks if I want to remove and replace all the music already on my ipod. I'm not sure how to handle this - does anyone know how to get the 4 new songs onto my ipod nano?

In order to sync music with your iPod, and since it seems it is the first time you are doing that, iTunes requires you to erase all music and have it sync only from your library. In this case, you can add your 4 new songs, and you have to add all the other songs from your library that were available in your iPod (the songs on your iPod should be in your iTunes library as well). When this is done, and anytime you want to add another new song, iTunes makes sure that all the previous songs are still there on the iPod and adds the new without erasing.
