Apple earpods not compatible with ipod shuffle a1271

I wonder why the apple earpods are not compatible with my ipod shuffle 3rd generation. I can hear the music but the buttons wont work. I can't change the volume or go to next song. Is there any solution to this problem? Thanks in advance for the answer

Hello,

EarPods were never designed to work with iPod shuffle (3rd generation). There is nothing you can do to use the inline buttons working with this iPod model.
