Front Camera not working following IOS 13.4 update

I’m on 13.7. I guess that the compatibility issues with some replacement cameras arose in 13.4 and remain in current versions.

My iPhone 8 front camera doesn’t work at all for selfies, FaceTime etc. It’s my only device for using Facetime outside. (I don’t have cell service on my iPad). FaceTime is so critical to many of use during this pandemic..

I had just recently downloaded IOS 13.4.1 and believed the pblm started after that.

I have found that not all iPhone 8's have this problem. It would be helpful if Apple diagnosed the condition/circumstance that triggers it so that we could modify it and get our front cameras working again!

I’m having the same exact problem and I don’t think Apple is going to release an update that’ll fix it I’ve updated my phone twice after the incident and complained to apple as well apple basically cane up with some bs saying it’s my phone not the update and that I’d have to pay to get it fixed

Exactly what’s happening to me!! I’ve called them about 5 times and they think it’s my phone that’s the problem when this didn’t occur til after the update!! I’m calling again tomorrow they need to fix this problem

No they were no help at all they told i’m going to have to pay to get my phone fixed because it’s not their fault !!They didn’t want to take the blame after i told them my phone was perfectly fine until i updated.This extremely frustrating 🤬

FWIW, I have an iPhone 7 on the latest update (13.5.1) and my front camera works just as it should.

I’m using iphone 7 ,ios 13.6

My front camera works very well on the default camera app

and doesn’t works on (facebook, tiktok, instagram, snapchat, whatsapp, etc..)

i tried every single solution and nothing works

I hope they could fix it

A new phone will not fix the problem unfortunately. They replaced my phone and after I recovered all my files, the problem was still there! Interestingly enough about a couple weeks later, the problem magically disappeared, and I have no idea why. I hadn't done a thing. I was at 13.4.1 when this initially happened

So, quick update really cool. Since I'm on my wife's village for a few days away from home, I was waiting to go home to sent the phone for replacement. And, as happened to you, same happened here: camera is now working!!!

This is really odd, and it is working flawlessly - did not upgrade ios, only updating apps as they arrive.

btw, this happened in version 13.6.

I had to refund her after not being able to figure it out :(. It was a sad day for both of us. I just hate it because now I have to wait until a new software update comes out before I can even sell the phone

I’ve just bought a 2nd hand IPhone 7 and I’m having the same issue, tried updating but still no fix for it. I’ve only just started with apple after years with android. Should have stayed with Android as apple clearly don’t care unless you have the latest model

I have had this same problem for a year and a half. I have a iPhone 7+ And the front camera only works in camera app. I have reinstalled apps at least 1000 times over the year because that is the only way I can get them to work. I refuse to buy a new phone. I feel like this was done on purpose so people were forced to buy new ones. This is bs apple and it should be fixed.

Do you know if it’s problem has been fixed yet ? i just did the update and now snapchat and facetime won’t work .
