Cellular / Network connection for apple watch Ireland

Hi,

Do any mobile networks in Ireland provide cellular connection for apple watch? I am interested in purchasing the series 5 apple watch but I am unsure if I will be able to receive/make calls and sms messages on it. I contacted my carrier (Virgin Media) but they had no idea.

According to this list of carriers Ireland is not on the list;

Apple Watch - Carriers - Apple

You could always buy the GPS only version and as long as you have your phone with you,you can make calls and send texts through your existing network provider.
