Go into Windows 10 settings and check the volume there. Hopefully, your options will be the same as mine:

  • start a piece of music playing in iTunes
  • click on the notification icon in the bottom right corner of the Windows screen
  • click on All Settings
  • click on System (display, sound, notifications power)
  • click on Sound
  • We'll assume that the Output device on this screen is ok. My laptop has only one option on Output (and that's Speaker/Headphone)
  • scroll down the screen to Advanced sound options (and click on the text below it, which says App volume device preferences
  • towards the bottom of the page, is there a heading for App / Volume, which includes one for iTunes? If so, make sure that volume is turned up as well.
