Garageband core audio/track error

Garageband for some reason will not let me choose the type of track that I want when I open a new project, it is greyed out, and it will not play back anything, it gives me a "core audio not available" error as well as when I try to add a new track, even when there is only one track, that I have reached the maximum amount of tracks available. I updated my MacBook, I reinstalled Garageband 4 times at this point and I also reset the coreaudiod and no luck. I have no clue whats going on, I have never EVER had this issue before. I'm starting to get quite frustrated.
