My Bluetooth is not recognizing my headset

I just bought a headset for my iPhone XR so I can work from home and freeing up my hands.

I am having a difficult time getting a connection. I have an adapter so that’s not the problem.

my Bluetooth is not recognizing the device and not sure what I’m doing wrong (I’ve turned it off then on again).

thanks in advance

I'm a bit confused, what adapter are you talking about?

Have you previously connected this headset to another device? If yes, turn off Bluetooth temporarily to connect to your iPhone.

Also, are you putting the Bluetooth heads in pairing mode to connect?
