Gaps on timeline. - Final Cut Pro

Hi I am learning FCP and I seem to have changed a setting somehow and not sure what I have done.

Previously, when I dragged a new object to the timeline it snapped in at the point I had selected and stayed snapped to the previous object.

Now I see that if I move an object to the timeline I am getting what I can only describe as a gap as per attached.


In View I do have snapping switched on, and am puzzled as to what I have managed to do

It may be you have switched on the Position Tool:


Hit A the Select Tool.
