Upgrading to macOS High Sierra?

Hi all,

I am unable to play H.265 files on my MacBook and I understand that I may have to upgrade to macOS High Sierra according to this article:

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT207022

Here are the details of what I am currently using:

macOS Sierra version 10.12.6

Hardware Overview:

Model Name: MacBook

Model Identifier: MacBook7,1

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz

Number of Processors: 1

Total Number of Cores: 2

L2 Cache: 3 MB

Memory: 8 GB

Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz

Boot ROM Version: 68.0.0.0.0

SMC Version (system): 1.60f6

Is it even possible for me to make the necessary upgrade(s)?

Thanks,

Peter

The blue text in above reply, SHOULD link direct to Apple downloads

to get the High Sierra installer from Apple. This would then allow you

an ability to download an Installer; this is not the entire new system.

Expect the download to take all your bandwidth, and up to five hours.

And Mac may restart three or more times; set the mac so it won't sleep.

(However ~ I just tried this and it DIDN'T want to load High Sierra..

So maybe there's problem with their server.)

Good luck & happy trails!🌞

PS: you may consider third party software, see if files will convert.
