Will the apple pencil work with Keynote via sidecar?

If I am running a Keynote presentation on my Mac and have the same screen on my iPad via sidecar, can I use the Apple pencil on the iPad to draw on the keynote presentation?

If the answer is no, is there an easy way to do this?

I've tried sharing my presentation to my Mac via Keynote Live, but I cannot get the Keynote presentation to play on the Mac much less test if the Apple pencil will work by drawing on my presentation while it is running.

Apple Pencil can perform the following with Keynote when used with Catalina using sidecar and a qualified Mac

Sidecar system requirements

·     write and draw on Keynote when in play

·     make a screenshot, then mark up the screenshot to save as a separate image file

I have yet to figure out how to do this with sidecar. I can get it to work in Keynote remote, but despite what you pasted above about drawing on Keynote when in play, my Apple Pencil only acts as a mouse and advances the slides when running the presentation in Sidecar. Can you suggest other sites that provide detailed instructions?
