Activity Tracking Kilojoules (Calories) Incorrectly

Hi all

I have been doing 5km runs for some time, and I use the iWatch workout app to track my activity. I used to burn over 1,500 at least for a 5km run. A while ago I had to reset my fitness tracking and calibration because the steps weren’t syncing with my phone properly. Now it works BUT for the exact same workout it only shows me burning around half the kilojoules. It’s so annoying! I wear the watch snugly etc. My weight is the same. I’m thinking of resetting and recalibration again to see if that helps. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello pollywaffle22,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that upon completing an outdoor run, the Apple Watch is not recording an accurate measurement of your workout.

Having an accurate measurement of your daily workouts is important and I'll be happy to help.

You mentioned calibrating your Apple Watch. Just to be sure, did you follow the recommended steps in this article: Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy If so, then the next step is to ensure that the personal information to calculate your daily activity is updated: Get the most accurate measurements using your Apple Watch

In addition, I suggest making sure that both the Apple Watch and the iPhone are updated to the latest software version. This helps provide software improvements on each device. Here's a helpful article on how to update each device properly: Update your Apple Watch

Please keep us posted on the results.

Kind regards.
