iPad Safari (documents & data) taking up 21.4gbs of space!?

Earlier today, Safari’s documents & data (not website data) were taking up 6gbs of space on my iPad (which is still an obscene amount). A few hours later, this increased to ~21.4gbs which is completely stupendous. I’m fairly sure that what has caused this is the fact that I’ve been uploading fairly large files (from 50mbs - 2.5gbs) to iCloud drive and Google drive via Safari. The question is, now that the files have been uploaded to the cloud (and no longer need to be cached by Safari), how do I bring down the amount of space Safari is taking up to a reasonable level? Fyi, I’m running iPadOS 13.4.1.
