Play purchased iTunes music without Apple Music - getting an error

After a few years of paying for Apple Music I recently cancelled it and want to go back to play the music I purchased from iTunes years ago. I can find it in iTunes but when I try to play it I can an error message saying my account isn’t connected iCloud Music or Apple Music. When you click “Ok” a few seconds later it pops up again. The music plays but the error message is annoying.

What am I doing wrong? I just want to listen to the music I purchased!

Hello Dante2004,

I see that you're getting a pop-up message when trying to listen to Apple Music. I can understand your concern, and I'd be happy to help.

Let's check your setting and make sure that you have Sync Library enabled on all of your devices. The article below will guide you through those steps, if needed.

Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music

If you go through these steps and the issue remains, respond back with some more details. Which version of software are you using? Have you recently changed your Apple ID?

Also, you might double check your payment information.

Change, add, or remove Apple ID payment methods
