Deleted/Re-installed Mail App -- Now it won't let work

I deleted my mail app off my phone. I reinstalled it but now I can’t access my emails when I put my email and password in it says it’s already registered on this device. I have looked at all settings and just can’t figure out how to get it back to how it was before. This is for my iCloud.com email that is associated with my account. Suggestions?
