macbook air cannot connect to garageband

I have successfully installed a driver for our Yamaha THR10 amp to connect to my Macbook Pro to Garageband.

However, when I try to do the same setup for my son's Macbook Air, it doesn't work. The driver installs ok and when we connect our amp's USB cord, the computer recognizes it as a new midi connection. But, when we look for the amp in Garageband's inputs, it's not there.

So, it works on the Macbook Pro, but not the Air. Any ideas of what to troubleshoot next?

Hi there jamminjammies,

I’m happy to see that you posted to the Apple Support Communities for assistance and I understand that you're having issues getting your Yamaha THR10 amp to work as an input in GarageBand. I'm happy to provide some guidance.

It may be a good idea to ensure that the MacBook air meets the system requirements for that driver. You can find that here: System Requirements

If you've checked that out and you're still running into issues, it's probably a good idea to get in contact with the manufacturer for additional support: Contact Us

Cheers!
