New LG CX OLED with flashing line at bottom of screen when watching content on inbuilt Apple TV app

Hi, really not sure where this question should go, however I have a brand new LG CX65 OLED tv.

I was watching Bad Boys for Life in 4k last night streamed from the inbuilt Apple TV app. All through the movie, intermittently, there was an annoying flashing coloured line along the bottom of the screen. I have found other people complaining of the same thing on Reddit and it “seems” to be an Apple issue.

Is there any way to report this to Apple for a fix? I haven’t seen the issue on any other source (Disney, Netflix, Google Play, free to air sources)

Here’s a shot of a red line and another of a white line, in dark scenes it’s really distracting.

any comments or suggestions welcome, thanks

Just a comment that whilst some CX users are reporting this as fixed, I personally still have the flashing line on my CX which is up to date - this is clearly not fixed.

Additionally, I don’t see this as an apple issue, more so, an LG issue, as the same flashing line has been reported on Plex, so seems more than just an apple bug. The line does not appear on the Amazon Fire Cube Apple TV app.

It is irritating, but do not see this being fixed given the length of time it has been going on.

Thank you very much for checking.

The trailer is in Dolby Vision for me. What I had meant is that initially, there is no flashing line. However, initially the content is in low resolution. Once the content goes to high resolution (looks to be 4K to me), the flashing line appears for me.

Oh well, I guess I will have to contact Apple Support.

That’s unfortunate, it’s an LG problem for sure though. The LG firmware update fixed it. The Apple TV App updates did not. There is a chance that both the update and the LG firmware fixed it, but not likely.

I would definitely try a full reset on the new firmware.

good luck! That flashing line issue SUCKS!!

Just to add, I updated my TV (and app) this morning and the issue appears to have been resolved!

I tested the content where the line would appear most for me and it is no more.

I did check out the Ted Lasso trailer however and the line did rear it’s ugly head again but it doesn’t appear on any other content nor trailer for that matter.

Have you also tested on the content where this would appear most for you?

New CX55 owner here and just got it 2 weeks ago. Not trying to dig up old news as there appears to be a potential fix out there via the lastest updates, but I wanted to throw out there that I experienced the line issue while watching the ESPN app via Apple TV HD box (not the 4K version). The white line would flash under the ticker every couple of minutes. It made watching the game unbearable. First time I experienced it and so far only content it has happened on. Glad I found this thread and the great info. Really appreciate all the time and effort you folks put into trying to get a solution for this issue. Just wanted to thank you all and share my experience.
