New LG CX OLED with flashing line at bottom of screen when watching content on inbuilt Apple TV app

Hi, really not sure where this question should go, however I have a brand new LG CX65 OLED tv.

I was watching Bad Boys for Life in 4k last night streamed from the inbuilt Apple TV app. All through the movie, intermittently, there was an annoying flashing coloured line along the bottom of the screen. I have found other people complaining of the same thing on Reddit and it “seems” to be an Apple issue.

Is there any way to report this to Apple for a fix? I haven’t seen the issue on any other source (Disney, Netflix, Google Play, free to air sources)

Here’s a shot of a red line and another of a white line, in dark scenes it’s really distracting.

I'm convinced this is an LG issue, not an Apple issue. It was occurring on both my Plex app and my Apple TV app. I found a setting under the Aspect Ratio Settings that even reads "if the edge of the screen is not clean please turn this feature off". It's the "Just Scan" setting.

Interesting. I don't recall seeing a setting called Just Scan. So I'm thinking that either the terminology changed or I don't know where the setting is. Mine LG is a 2019 model. If Just Scan exist with Screen Shift, then it may be a combination of settings versus just one setting that resolves this issue. Seems to me LG should have fixed this a long time ago.

reported the issue to apple and they said their engineer worked on the problem and resolved it but obviously it was not the case since it has not been done at all...I purchased more than 40 movies with apple and these horrible horizontal lines keep flashing on more than half of my movies, both HD and 4K so it is better to avoid byuing anything else unless they fix the problem...seems they do not care about it since one of their idiot advisors suggested changing my internet provider and wrote that my wi fi is too weak!

I noticed some other strange behaviour while watching The Morning Show on Apple TV+.

I’m on episode 4 and every episode so far the screen is filled but people on screen look stretched vertically. The aspect ratio on my C9 is set to Original. If I change the aspect to 16:9 the picture remains the same but when I change back to Original aspect I get small black bars top and bottom and the picture looks correct and no longer looks stretched vertically. It’s like the tv doesn’t apply the correct aspect ratio unless I change it then go back to Original. I’ve not had Apple TV+ long enough to test if this happens on other programmes.

I got the the update. Still have the aspect ratio problem, but for me I can still change the aspect ratio to work around the issue. Isn’t greyed our for me (LG CX 55).

I noticed it doesn’t happen if I start the show from the AppleTV home screen (like continue watching X). But if I navigate to AppleTV+ and then select a show the Aspect ratio is messed up.
